Alhasan Ghazzawi, MD
Background & Training
Dr. Ghazzawi is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in adult psychiatry, offering an integrated approach that considers the interplay of social, psychological, and biological factors in mental health. He began his psychiatry career at Maimonides Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and later pursued postdoctoral training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at NYU’s Psychoanalytic Association of New York. He further refined his expertise through a public psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University.

Dr. Ghazzawi specializes in LGBTQ+ mental health, drawing from both research and clinical experience. As the founder and former director of the LGBTQ+ Mental Health Clinic at Maimonides, he has dedicated his career to providing affirming, inclusive care.
Additionally, he offers ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, an innovative treatment that facilitates deep introspection and emotional healing.
